A New Schedule

Can you remember life before your blog? Blogging has given me the opportunity to express thoughts and feelings through the written word. I've made it a priority to write regularly. Writing has become a passion over the past eight months. I've found myself doing things I never thought I would. Taking classes. Submitting articles. Writing inspirational devotions.

Now it's time to make a difficult decision. As ideas for an inspirational devotion series fill my head, I find myself struggling to find time to write them down. Between classes and blogging three times a week, my WIP (Work In Progress) remains a mere 'hope.' Something I hope to get to someday. Maybe tomorrow.

Life happens, and the tomorrows become todays that quickly fade into yesterdays. The ideas remain. Hoping to rise to the surface. Becoming words on a page.

It's a tough decision. God's Word is a constant guide. The Apostle Paul's words to the Ephesians come to mind, "The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling" (1:18; KJV; emphasis mine). I don't want to miss a single thing He has for me.

In order for my dream to become a reality, my blogging schedule will be changing. Beginning this week, I will be posting on Mondays and Thursdays. I appreciate each one of you who stops by! You'll never know what an encouragement your comments have been to me. I covet your prayers as I begin this new writing adventure!

What dreams have you put on hold? Is God nudging you to begin dreaming again? I'd love to hear from you!

*Special thanks to Wendy @ All in a Day's Thought for the "Pursuing Your Dream Award." I'd like to pass this award along to all of my follower friends who are pursuing a writing dream! Seek God's direction, and dream BIG!

  1. You know, Maria, time for all the writing projects is one reason why I only post on my blog on Mondays and Thursdays. I wouldn't mind posting more, but just have difficulty fitting it all in. I am still trying to find the balance to do everything, visit all my blog friends and go grocery shopping too. lol Believing the Lord for wisdom to do everything that He wants me to do, not just what I want to do. Will be praying for you to have all the wisdom you need too.

Thanks for the award! What an honor. I'm blessed with wonderful blogging friends such as you!

    Hugs and blessings,
    Karen

  2. I applaud your decision. I just made the cut back several weeks ago. It's helped me focus more on editing and my home life. See you Mondays and Thursdays and thanks for the shout out. ;)

  4. That's discipline for ya! It never ceases to amaze me how many of us really struggle with similar issues. (I just made a similar comment to another lady a couple of days ago.)

I am working on finishing up a children's book so I have to cut back on blogging as well even though I just started this adventure a couple of month ago!

The book has only been in the making for FIVE years! Talk about consistently getting sidetracked!

May God greatly bless your writing endeavors as you seek His constant guidance and direction!

I pray you would finish long before a five year period of time!

    Have a blessed weekend!

  6. Hello dear friend,
I know how you feel and applaud your decision to look to what God has for you, and desire that more than any other pursuit or distraction. Bless you for being such a wise example!

  7. Karen - Balance! Such a key! My daughter laughs at me, because I tend to use the word a lot!! Thanks for the words of wisdom and for praying for wisdom for me, as well. God bless and enjoy the award! You deserve it!

Wendy - Glad to hear that your blogging cut back has been a good move! Time for editing and home life is very important!! Thanks again for the original award and I look forward to visiting you on Mondays and Thursdays as well! Blessings!

Raymonde - Thank you so much for the sweet award! What an amazing friend you are!! It amazes me how we can 'connect' with other bloggers we've never met and feel such a kindred spirit though we're miles apart! Thanks again for being such an encouragement to me, Raymonde! God bless you!!

  8. Michelle - Thank you so much for your encouraging words! Sounds like a lot of us 'bloggers' are in the same boat. Those words whirling about in our minds will never become WIPs unless we discipline ourselves to write them down!!

Blessings on your children's book as you put the finishing touches on it before submitting! Have you ever entered a writing contest? I've found that it helps me focus and complete my 'assignment.' I'm waiting to hear about a children's story I submitted back in the summer. Should know in March.

Appreciate your prayers! Praying for you, too!

Alisa - So good to hear that posting twice a week is effective!! I struggled with concerns about losing readers...the great comments I've gotten so far, seem to indicate that blogging twice a week is no problem. Thanks for the input!! Have a fantastic weekend!

Dorothy - You're such an inspiration and an encouragement to me!! Thank you for the kind, supportive words. You're absolutely right that God's plan trumps man's plan every time! God bless you abundantly! Appreciate you!!
